I LOVE SUPERIOR. I'd like to explain that most people writing reviews have never worked in restaurants before nor know how they operate and know how stressful it is to work in one. People with large parties expect too much and show no mercy for people who are breaking a sweat to serve them. I'm 1000% okay waiting for a table here because the atmosphere is nice to relax and grab a drink in while you're waiting. They have enough people on staff to run things efficiently and they typically do. My servers have always been nice and with the job they have, that's hard to do sometimes. They deal with the unreasonable and entitled people who write all these reviews. I'll admit one thing: they raised their prices from what they used to be, but that only goes to show how popular they are. (I spend about $30 on myself only for one meal and a drink) I definitely recommend eating there though because it's so good, even if it's just once or on occasion! Their salsa is the best in town and they really know how to season their food. The servers are patient and friendly. Any reasonable person would love this place!
(Btw if you called ahead and asked if there was a wait and came later and it isn't the time you said you'd come - that obviously could've changed if there was a wait or not) -

The decor in Superior Grill is absolutely fabulous. I am not a big fan of their regular menu, but it's a fun place to go to have drinks with your friends. I do enjoy the brunch entrees and their frozen mimosas on Sunday!

After some trial and error, this is our favorite "Tex-mex-feeling" Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge to date. We often visit for the lively atmosphere--it's always packed out on the weekends, but the bar area is first come, first serve, so feel free to snag an empty table there when you walk in! We really enjoy their trio dip (queso, guac, and bean dip) appetizer--so nice not having to make the queso or guac decision! We enjoy their enchiladas and combo plates, though be warned that if a combo plate comes with a hard taco, it's likely only beef and cheese (no lettuce, tomatoes, etc.) Which is kind of a bummer! We also enjoy the steak and chicken fajitas, though they really aren't anything that special. They don't give you many toppings for your fajitas (no shredded cheese, no sautéed bell peppers, just a sad lil scoop of guac, some rice, beans, and sour cream + pico. Corn tortillas were not great, got kind of hard as they cooled off. While there is room for improvement and it seems a little overpriced for the food you get, we will remain regulars for the atmosphere and general tastiness of the food.

I found my new fav spot for happy hour in the city!
I like their salsa and chips. So far we tried the chicken fajita and chicken quesadilla, guacamole and chips and tacos. I liked the quesadilla best bc they are easy to eat. Their margaritas are delicious and service is good and professional.
Plenty of seating. Theirs lk 4 different rooms. This place is huge. Also notice reserved area which looked like promising location to host parties? Or dress rehearsal? Decor is beautiful and def brings nice intro to Tex mex vibe. -

I love this place, or at least want to love it but they make it difficult. Their Margaritas are great but be willing to pay $16. Their food I would give a 5/10. It's never consistent. You also really have to know the menu to know what to order to become satisfied. The average price for a food item on the menu is $15 but not worth it. For example, last night I ordered a shrimp quesadilla that was $16 (that's the half order). When I received it I was in shock. Each piece of my quesadilla was bite size. You can see in the picture below with my hand in there for reference (my hand isn't that big either). Although it was TINY it actually tasted fairly good. But if any man/woman with a good appetite would have ordered this, he/she would be pretty upset. You're better than this Superior!!!
